Dr. Erika Creydt Grateful to Advance to General Election, Honors Fellow Candidates

BLAINE, Wash. — August 28, 2026 — Dr. Erika Creydt expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the voters of the 42nd Legislative District following the Primary Election and her advancement to the General Election. She pledged to continue building a community-focused campaign dedicated to improving the quality of life for Whatcom County residents.

“I am incredibly grateful and humbled to have made it through the Primary,” said Creydt. “This campaign has been about so much more than a race or a title. It has been about the people in our local communities who opened their doors, shared their stories, trusted me with their concerns, and encouraged me along the way. I will never take that support for granted.”

Creydt also expressed her sadness that fellow candidates Eamonn Collins and Ryan Bowman did not advance to the General Election.

“I was genuinely sad to hear that Eamon and Ryan did not make it through. I know how hard they worked, how much they sacrificed and how much of their hearts they put into this campaign. Running for office requires courage, conviction, and an enormous personal commitment. They both have so much to give to our community, and I hope they know that their efforts mattered. Our district is better because people like them are willing to step forward and serve.”

Creydt said she intends to carry that spirit of respect and community into the General Election.

“Now the real work begins. I will give this General Election everything I have. I want to earn the trust of every voter—whether they supported me in the primary, supported another candidate, or are still deciding. If I am elected, I will represent all of us, including Eamon and Ryan and the people who stood behind them.”

Creydt said her campaign will continue to focus on the everyday challenges affecting Whatcom County families, workers, farmers, healthcare providers, educators, and business owners.

“This campaign has never been just about one person. It is about our local community, our families, our farms, our small businesses, our neighbors, and the future we are building together. I love this community, and I am deeply honored to have the opportunity to continue fighting for it. I will carry the voices, hopes, and concerns of the people of the 42nd District with me every step of the way, and I will work tirelessly to make sure our local voices are heard in Olympia.”

Creydt, a clinical psychologist, is running to improve the quality of life for Whatcom County residents by reducing the cost of living, making housing more affordable, strengthening school funding, expanding access to healthcare providers, supporting local businesses, and creating more opportunities for living-wage jobs.
